Mr. Boucher spent five years preparing the lawsuit before he went to court. After a week, the court judge took the case from the jury's hand and gave the nonsuit for the good of the city. The plaintiff then won the appellate court ruling that the police have an obligation to warn his daughter and be dismissed. The city was completed on the eve of the trial.
