Susan Brown (born May 4, 1932) is an American actress. He is best known for his role in daytime soap operas.

Life and career
Brown was born in San Francisco, California. He graduated from the University of Southern California and then attended the American Theater Wing in New York City. His first soap role was at From These Roots in 1959, taking over for prominent actress Ann Flood. He then has a regular role in short-lived soaps The Young Marrieds Promise of Light
In 1977, Brown joined the cast of General Hospital as Dr. Gail Adamson Baldwin, Monica Webber's adoptive mother who married widow Lee Baldwin (Peter Hansen) widow. In 1979, Brown was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress. He left the series on December 12, 1985, and made occasional appearances from 1989-1990 before returning on September 30, 1992 on repeating status.
On the sidelines of her duties, she plays the mother of Victoria Lane, Janet, in Santa Barbara and female businessman Adelaide Fitzgibbons (romantically involved with the much younger Kirk Anderson (Tom Wiggin) > When the World Changes ). When the GI Port Charles milling began, Baldwin was founded as the nuclear family, although once Kin Shriner (who acted as Scott Baldwin) returned to GH, their performance diminished. Brown, however, continues to be seen on occasions for special events in both shows. Along with Peter Hansen, he made his final appearance in 2004 in an episode honoring the late Anna Lee, who plays Lila Quartermaine, whose character was also killed.
Along with his soap career, Brown appeared on Broadway, primetime television, and movies. He guest starred at Death Valley Days , Kojak , Marcus Welby, MD , Barney Miller , Hotel , Beverly Hills, 90210 , and Frasier . She was a regular cast member in the short-lived ABC law drama, Mariah in 1987.
