Tyler is a town in, and county seat in, Smith County, located in east central Texas, USA. Tyler has long been the center of Smith County's economic, educational, financial, medical, and cultural center. The city is named for John Tyler, the tenth President of the United States. Tyler has a population of 96,900 in 2010, according to the US Census Bureau, and Tyler 2014 estimate for 2014 is 107,405. It is 100 miles (160 km) east-southeast Dallas. Recreation and tourism

Each year, the Texas Rose Festival attracts thousands of tourists to Tyler. Transportation

The most common form of transportation is motor vehicles. Tyler is the nexus of some major highways. Interstate 20 stretches along the northern edge of the city heading east and west, the US Highway 69 runs to the north-south through the city center and State Highway 64 runs east-west through the city. Tyler also has access to US Highway 271, State Highway 31, State Highway 155, and State Highway 110. Loop 323 was established in 1957 and circumnavigated the city, which continues to grow outside this circle.
