Bamberg served as a Democrat member of the South Carolina House of Representatives and was a personal injury trial lawyer with Bamberg Legal, LLC.

In 2015 he represents the families of police shooting victims Walter Scott. In October 2015, Bamberg, a lawyer with a law firm from Bamberg Legal in Bamberg, South Carolina, along with lawyer L. Chris Stewart of Stewart Seay & amp; Felton in Atlanta, Georgia, negotiated a $ 6.5 million pre-suit settlement on behalf of the Estate of Walter Scott to resolve claims for wrongful deaths and civil rights abuses. It was the largest pre-suit settlement of its kind in the history of South Carolina. Former officer, Michael Slager, pleaded guilty to federal civil rights violations and was sentenced to 20 years for the murder of Walter Scott.

At the end of 2015, Bamberg initially supported and officially supported Hillary Clinton to become president. In January 2016, Bamberg withdrew its support and officially supported the Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, highlighting Sanders' strong support for "racial, social and economic justice." Bamberg went on to perform as one of Sanders' National Surrogates, appearing with Sanders at events around the country as well as on his behalf. On November 9, 2017, our Revolution, a national grassroots organization that emerged in the presence of historic president Senator Sanders, announced that Bamberg had been elected to the National Board of Directors.

Bamberg has served as a client attorney in some of the most prominent cases in the United States, especially in the case of incidents involving officers. In addition to Walter Scott's case, Bamberg has represented the Alton Sterling family in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Bryant Heyward in Hollywood, South Carolina; and Keith Scott in Charlotte, North Carolina. Bamberg represents the 20-year-old Kouren-Rodney Bernard Thomas family from Raleigh, North Carolina, who was shot and killed by neighbors when he left home party in August 2016 - an interesting shooting comparison with Trayvon Martin's death in Florida, and "Jane Doe," an Orangeburg County woman, a South Carolina woman allegedly forced into sex by a deputy Sheriff in charge. In 2017, Bamberg settled a civil lawsuit against the Orangeburg County Sheriff's Lawsuit suit for $ 350,000, stating at the time: "Most of the officers and departments in which they serve are exceptional, and we should be grateful that they have devoted their lives to serving and protecting all of us, however, we must continue to struggle against the abuse of power, and we will play an important role in overcoming the problem. "

Bamberg again found himself in the spotlight of civil rights when an officer with Kingstree City, conjured up an unarmed 86-year-old man after a traffic stop in a rural South Carolina. The police department reported that the old man had failed to stop because of the blue light and when out of his vehicle, was looted by the officers "for his own safety." In less than a month, Bamberg had negotiated a $ 900,000 legal settlement on behalf of his grandfather for civil rights violations, representing one of the fastest and most important pre-suit legal settlements in an officer involved in the Taser case in South Carolina history. During the same time period, Bamberg represents the mother of Del'Quan Seagers, a minor who died in 2015 while in detention from the Juvenile Justice Department of South Carolina and lives in a wilderness camp operated by AMIKids, Inc., a a non-profit organization that operates wilderness campgrounds and alternative schools across the United States. On January 27, 2017, the Juvenile Justice Department of South Carolina and the desert camps operated by AMIKids came under tremendous scrutiny after a thorough review and spicy report was issued by the South Carolina Legislative Audit Board, which found many failures by the department and the company. in the operation of camps for retained teenagers. The day after the report was released, SCDJJ Director Sylvia Murray resigned. Bamberg's representation helped to encourage a national discussion on alternative placement facilities for adolescents in the United States.

In addition to his civil rights trial work, Bamberg has successfully represented individuals in personal injuries and wrongful deaths, such as fatal tractor trailer accidents that claimed the life of a member of Bamberg City Council in 2015, and employees of the Duke University Hospital are sexually assaulted by unknown attackers while working.

In January 2017, news surfaced that Kamiyah Mobley, who was kidnapped from Jacksonville, Florida hospital in 1998 at the age of eight hours, had been found in Walterboro, South Carolina, raised by her captor by the name of Alexis Manigo. Then eighteen, Mobley retained a Bamberg lawyer to represent his interests, such as working to obtain identification and Social Security cards.

Bamberg has been recognized nationally for his job as a trial lawyer, the Los Angeles Times has told him: "Bamberg has emerged as a new star in quasi-fraternal lawyers accusing themselves as civil rights advocates and lawyers who could win millions of dollars in wrongful-death payments. "In November 2016, Bamberg founded the law firm of the trial court of Bamberg Legal, LLC, the law firm of the plaintiff's lawsuit that focuses primarily on personal injury, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and civil rights/the use of forced litigation. Bamberg recorded in August 2017 had "explored" the possibility of running for governor in the State of South Carolina, the same conversation about the possibility of a state having its first Democratic Governor in more than a decade.
