Douglas Michael Head (April 14, 1930 - February 2, 2011) is an American politician and Minnesota's 25th General Attorney.

Early life and education
Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Head graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University and LL.B. from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he graduated in 1956 along with his classmates and also the future of Attorney General Walter Mondale.

Careers
Passing the bar in 1957, he was elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives and served from 1961 to 1964. He was elected the Attorney General in 1966 and assumed office on January 2, 1967, serving until January 4, 1971.
The head was a failed candidate for the Minnesota Governor in the 1970 election, losing to DFL's nomination, Wendell Anderson. In 1971, along with former Minnesota Public Defender Jerome D. Truhn, he founded the law firm Head & amp; Truhn (now Head, Seifert & Vander Weide).
The chief died on February 2, 2011, from a natural cause at his home in Minneapolis. He is 80 years old.
