Military services

On March 21, 2007, the United States Navy Reserve announced Bush's election for training as an intelligence officer through a direct commission officer program, a naval initiative where applicants in specialized civil fields forgot the commission's typical prerequisites, such as the Academy Navy, NROTC or OCS, and - as instead - attended a three week Direct Indoctrination Course (DCOIC) course on subjects such as naval history, customs and hello, followed by online classes. Bush told The Politico who attended the launch of the aircraft carrier in October 2006 named for his grandfather - USSÃ, George H.W. Bush - inspired him to join the service. Political activity

At the age of 12, Bush spoke before the 1988 Republican National Convention, which nominated his grandfather. He also spoke at the 1992 convention on the occasion of George H. W. Bush's reflection. He campaigned for his uncle, George W. Bush, during the 2000 and 2004 presidential campaigns. In his speech he expressed support for his uncle's position to support a comprehensive immigration reform.

He has expressed his opinion on some issues. In August 2004, during a trip to Mexico sponsored by a foreign Republican group, he called on Venezuelan President Hugo Chà ¢ ávez a dictator and criticized the use of a US Border patrol that fired plastic pellets containing chili powder. Bush was quoted as saying to the Mexican media, "If there is any American consent to this policy, it is reprehensible, it is kind of barbaric." He attributes the use of the weapon to "some local INS men who are trying hard, macho", even though it is an agency policy.

When asked in 2003 about whether he plans to run for his own post, Bush replies that his grandmother Barbara Bush has suggested that anyone who thinks about entering politics should distinguish itself in another field first: "Make a name for yourself , have a family, marry someone who is great, have children, buy a house, pay taxes, and do things that everyone does but just run out and say, 'Hey, my nephew or son or grandson of...' specifically about his father's White House ambitions, he called "Bush fatigue" a disappointing factor.

Bush criticized Florida Governor Charlie Crist (in office 2007-2011) to receive money from the 2009 stimulus package, calling for a return to fiscal conservatism. In January 2010, he supported Marco Rubio, Crist's opposite to the United States Senate.

Bush served as a member of several diplomatic missions, including one to Nicaragua for the second transfer of power in the country, and another to Brazil for the Pan American Games in 2007. He also joined two US Congress delegates, one to Saudi Arabia during the Spring Arab in 2011 and one to Turkey in 2012 during the civil war in neighboring Syria.

In 2012 he is vice chairman of the finance of the Republican Party of Texas.

He was ranked one of the "50 Most Influential New People" in New Zealand in 2016. His father ran in the 2016 Republican presidential election, but later left. After his father left the race, Bush campaigned for Donald Trump as head of the Texas Republican effort on behalf of Trump. Most of the rest of the Bush family refused to campaign for Trump.

2014 elections

Bush announced in September 2012 his intention to run, saying that he was considering one of several state offices. Two months later he submitted the papers needed to run for office in Texas. That same month, his father, Jeb Bush, sent an email to the donors asking them to support him in a 2014 bid for the Texas Land Commissioner.

In January 2013, Bush filed a campaign finance report stating he had received about $ 1.3 million in campaign donations. In March 2013, Bush proposed to run for Texas Land Commissioner. The main role of the Land Office is to negotiate and enforce rent rights to mineral rights on millions of hectares of land owned by the State of Texas.

As of June 2013, Bush has raised $ 3.3 million even though no Democratic candidate has appeared for the land commissioner. On November 19, 2013, he formally submitted letters to nominate a Texas land commissioner.

The Exiled Land Commissioner, Jerry Patterson, ran fruitlessly for the governor's lieutenant in the Republican primary 2014. In the same primary, Bush easily won over his only opponent, David Watts of Gilmer in Upshur County. The tabulation is 934,571 votes (73 percent) to 345,565 (27 percent).

In the November 4 election, Bush faces Democrat John Cook, former mayor of El Paso. Bush won 61% of the vote, riding a national Republican wave in the midterm exam. He is the only Bush to win his first election. He received a majority of Hispanic votes in his election.

2018 election

On June 19, 2017, Bush announced he would run for re-election as Texas Regional Commissioner, focusing on veterans' issues, safeguarding the Gulf Coast from future disasters, continuing to renovate Alamo, and funding Texas children's education. In January 2017, he had about $ 3.1 million in campaign money for his election campaign. Bush won March 6, 2018, the main Republican party with nearly 58% of the vote, defeating three other candidates including Jerry E. Patterson, previous land commissioner.

Tenure

Bush assumed office on 2 January 2015.

Bush has also arranged a revamp of the Alamo pleno and around the ongoing and increasingly controversial plaza in San Antonio. In May 2015, as Texas land commissioner, Bush organized a fundraiser for the future development of San Antonio's historic site, The Alamo. British singer Phil Collins donated various artifacts relating to Alamo to the State of Texas with the proviso that the State of Texas built a facility to store artifacts within a period of seven years. The Texas state legislature has approved a one-time $ 25 million revenues to the Bush Public Office to redevelop the Alamo site and the city of San Antonio has agreed to provide $ 1 million for rebuilding.

In February 2016, the Latin American Council of Council Member No. 12 in Laredo, Texas, announced that Bush and JosÃÆ'Ã… © Antonio Meade KuribreÃÆ'Â ± a, head of Mexico's Ministry of Social Development, will receive the title of "Senor Internacional," a designation used since 1976 to honor prominent figures in the border region as part of the annual Anniversary of Washington Anniversary.

Bush fired about a hundred ground commission employees hired under Commissioner Jerry Patterson earlier. According to San Antonio Express-News, Bush paid almost $ 1 million in taxpayer funds to encourage laid-off personnel not to file a lawsuit against him or the agency. He kept at least forty people on the payroll up to five months after ending their work; they agreed in writing not to sue.

In 2016, the office began a multi-year study of the effects of flooding from the Houston area and Texas coast.
