Michael Shane (May 4, 1927 - February 22, 1994) is an American lawyer and actor. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he studied at Glenville High School. While earning his bachelor's and law degree at Ohio State University, he appeared as a stand-up comic in local nightclubs.

Specializing in personal injuries and malpractice cases, he has a reputation as a dramatic courtroom attorney who makes emotional presentations to the jury. He also did legal work in the show business, acting in small theatrical productions and writing songs.

In 1963, director Larry Peerce was filming a small independent film, One Potato, Two Potato in Painesville, Ohio, and needed a law office for one of the scenes. Shane offers it in return for the inside of the movie. His appearance as Jordan Hollis lawyer in this film earned him positive reviews in The New Yorker magazine.
