Michael John Avenatti (born February 16, 1971) is an American lawyer and businessman. He has appeared in broadcast media and print media as a commentator on various legal issues and has represented parties in a number of lawsuits that have received international media attention, including cases filed against the National Football League, various celebrity defendants, high-level businesses. executives, and Fortune 100 companies. While in college and later in law school, Avenatti worked at The Research Group, a political opposition research and media company run by Rahm Emanuel (then White House Chief of Staff for President Barack Obama, and Chicago Mayor). Avenatti worked on more than 150 Democratic and Republican campaigns in 42 states while studying at George Washington University.
After law school, Avenatti worked at O'Melveny & amp; Myers in Los Angeles, California, with Daniel M. Petrocelli, who previously represented Ron Goldman's family in his case against O.J. Simpson.
