Michael Glyn Brown (1957 - 8 November 2013) is a hand surgeon from Greater Houston, Texas. He has a Brown Hand Center and is also owned, managed, or an officer at another medical center. He became famous in Texas and elsewhere for his advertising and social connections, but became involved in scandals and lost his medical license. He committed suicide in 2013.

Early life and education
Brown was born in Galena Park in the Greater Houston area. While studying at Galena Park Junior High School, he saw the movie Michael DeBakey doing heart surgery. She wanted to be a cardiac surgeon, but she said that she eventually became a hand surgeon because that special skill enabled greater and "more profitable and glamorous creativity".
After graduating from Galena Park High School with honors in 1975, he attended Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University-San Marcos), where he received an average grade of 3.97. He then graduated from Baylor College of Medicine. He received his medical license in 1983 and performed surgical training at a hospital in Stockton, California.

In 1988 he founded the Chocolate Hand Center. He also owns, manages, or an officer in several other medical businesses, including the Special Surgical Center St. Michael with locations in three states, Achilles Foot and Ankle Specialists, LLC, and the Allied Center for Special Surgery. She became famous in Houston for a television commercial that showed her with Sophie, her baby girl, ending with the slogan, "At the Brown Hands Center, we will take care of you just as I take care of my own family." The same advertisement also aired in Greater Phoenix.
At the beginning of the 21st century, Brown earns $ 2.5 million per year. He owns a residence in East Wedgwood Glen part of The Woodlands and a mansion in the Houston Memorial area. At his death he also owns a home in Miami Beach, Florida, a farm in the Normangee, and a residence in New York. In 2010, Brown Hand Center has locations in Houston, Dallas, Austin, Las Vegas, and Phoenix, and Brown's business is expected to reap about $ 45 million next year, more than five years earlier. Brown is also prominent in the Houston community. In 2008, despite being involved in a scandal, he was awarded the Medal of Congress of Congressional of Distinction and in connection with the award was dinner with President George W. Brown advertises "patented Brown technique" from carpal tunnel operations, endoscopic surgery for wrists; Brown Hand Center's ad and website credits him with creating techniques and comparing them to more traditional operations, which require stitching. Personal life and destruction
Brown married four times. In 2002, he was convicted of hitting his third wife and placed on probation by the Texas Medical Board for it and for "concerns he has alcohol or chemical dependence". In 2006, after Brown tested positive for cocaine, the Council revoked his license for medical practice. In 2010, an advertisement for Brown Hand Center promoted Brown's medical background, named his medical degree, and stated that he had retired but trained doctors working at the center. Seth Chandler, a law professor at the University of Houston, called the advertisement "misleading" but "not" slam dunk for anyone wanting to sue "under the Texas Medical Practice Act.
In August 2010, Brown voluntarily lost the rights of parents to his two children by his third wife; in September 2011, after a weeklong trial, he was freed from a crime attack on his fourth wife.
Revenue from Brown Hand Center decreased after ads featuring Brown circulation ended. Brown moved to Greater Miami and on January 23, 2013, filed a Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida; the case was transferred to the US Bankruptcy Court in Houston on 25 September 2013 and the appointment of Chapter 11 of the Trustee was approved on 30 September. A restructuring official was named for Brown's business in March.
In July 2013, Brown pleaded guilty in a federal court to disrupt a flight attendant. On September 25, he was sentenced to 30 days in federal prison and was ordered to surrender himself on October 25 that year.
In October 2013, Brown Hand Center announced the closure. On October 16, only Houston location remains open. The trustee who handled Brown's bankruptcy case has put the business in the protection of Chapter 11; he stated that he had found "significant financial debt, misappropriation of income, and compliance issues".
Suicide and death attempts
On October 29, 2013, news was released that Brown had been found unconscious at his home in Miami Beach. His lawyer filed a statement with the US Bankruptcy Court confirming that he had suffered a heart attack and was unable: "Dr. Brown remains hospitalized... The extent of his damage is unknown, but it seems very severe and, at present, lawyers do not has the ability to communicate with Dr. Brown. "He was found, on a suicide note, on October 24, 2013.
Brown was taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center & amp; Miami Heart Institute in Miami Beach, where on November 7 he was declared brain dead and according to Dick DeGuerin, his lawyer, life support was removed; he died the next day at the age of 56 years.
Before his death, some of Michael Brown's assets, including a suitcase containing $ 3.2 million in cash, artwork and antiques, and $ 250,000 worth of goods were reported missing and unknown. After his death a series of his auctions were held to repay the debt.
